is recognised as one of the most gifted figurative painters of his
generation. An accurate and sensitive draughtsman, blessed with an
empathetic nature and an unerring sense of tone, Peter is well known for his
skill as a painter of landscapes, portraits and figures. Working with a
mixture of bold and delicate brushstrokes, he captures the mood and
character of his figure subjects, while his ability to create compositions
of haunting beauty while remaining true to nature is seen to advantage in
his landscapes of Italy and Venice.
